Increase Google Search Results With A Few Simple Techniques

05Jan 2012

For many of us, Google is the homepage that appears when first opening up our internet browser. Often times, it is the first website that may be used. In fact according to a combination of the Alexa Rank, users' reviews and freshness and content richness, Google was the number one website used in 2011. So it's no surprise that having your company's website appear high on the search results list when people search for keywords associated with your business, typically results is higher profits from more customer referrals. With that in mind, here are a few ways that you can help your company increase its Google search results.

  • Complete Competent & Thoughtful Keyword Research - Infusing keywords into your website that people are most likely to search for, and have a low competition rate are the best to use. When choosing keywords, it is important to make sure your keywords are more generic rather than specific. Your company may be called Bob's Bagels & Smears, so keywords such as bagels, homemade cream cheese, and local bakeries may be good keywords to focus on. Other than current customers, it is rare that someone would search Google for your company's exact name.
  • Don't Overuse (Or Underuse) Keywords - Google can recognize an overabundance of the same keywords. This keyword density will only defeat the purpose of all your hard word. On the other hand, being too sparse with your keywords and Google will not pick them up. Thoughtful, rich content with an appropriate amount of keywords carefully placed throughout the website with density and proximity in mind will help increase Google search results.
  • Partner With Reputable Websites for Backlinks - Google assigns a ranking from 0 to 10 through PageRank, which allows them to assign websites a particular value. The higher your value, the more likely your site will increase its Google search results. Google views backlinks (or links on other websites that connect back to your website) on other reputable sites as a great way of deciding this rank. A good number of backlinks to shoot for is about 300.
